'Your vote, every vote!'
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsX9SrrO9VU This is a public information video about disability voting with 4 self-advocates sharing their experiences of why voting matters. In this video, Evan Murray of Democracy Maine interviews four voters who have disabilities – Brian Harnish, Carmie Fadden, Dale Hess and Jon McGovern. People with disabilities have been underrepresented when it comes to voting, and these four are strong self-advocates who speak up for their rights. With the support of Maine’s Secretary of State Shenna Bellows and Molly Thompson of Disability Rights Maine, this video illustrates the power of voting to give every voice a choice – and the ways casting a ballot can be made accessible to all. Now is the time when sharing this in whatever way is convenient for you can help to encourage the disability community and others to vote. Share with your friends and colleagues, post it in on social media, websites and distribute it to your lists or in your newsletters. Every vote matters. Help us get the word out when early voting has begun! Hope you all are doing well and remember to vote! Warmly, Kim -- Kim Fulmer Humphrey, MPH Founder and President Community Connect Maine [email protected] |
