Ability to Work and Continue Benefits

Most people can work and still maintain their benefits.  The Social Security Red Book serves as a general reference source about the employment-related provisions of Social Security Disability Insurance and the Supplemental Security Income Programs for educators, advocates, rehabilitation professionals, and counselors who serve people with disabilities.

Click here for a PowerPoint presentation prepared by the University of Maine Center for Community Inclusion & Disability Studies which provides an introduction to disability and work.

For more information visist the Maine Medical Center Benefits Counseling Services website.
